🚀 Visited automatica Munich 2025 — the world’s largest exhibition for robotics and automation.

Last week I had the opportunity to attend automatica 2025 in Munich — a key international event for those working in automation, AI, and advanced manufacturing technologies. Over 800 exhibitors and tens of thousands of professionals from 40+ countries made this a true hotspot for ideas, technologies, and solutions.

Key takeaways:

  • Machine vision is becoming the "eyes" and intuition of industrial systems.
  • AI algorithms are increasingly integrated at the edge — enabling real-time recognition, navigation, and sorting.
  • AI-assisted and low-code robot programming.
  • For example, KUKA presented iiQWorks.Copilot — an assistant that makes robot configuration accessible even without deep technical knowledge.
  • Next-generation mobile and collaborative robots.
  • Faster integration, simpler control, and greater adaptability — a shift towards user-centric solutions.
  • Munich_i and AI.Society — strong initiatives bridging science, business, and AI within both humanitarian and technological contexts.

Why this matters to us:

The exhibition featured both brands already present in Kazakhstan — KUKA, Fanuc, Kawasaki, Hyundai Robotics, and global leaders yet to enter our market: Estun, Dobot, Universal Robots, Staubli, Camao, among many others. We also discovered emerging brands with great potential, opening new opportunities for local businesses and system integrators.

As part of the QazTech alliance, we discussed potential collaborations with the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) — particularly in analytics, data exchange, and strengthening regional cooperation across Central Asia.
